PROCEDURE

The licensing process follows these key steps (NUR Legal provides end-to-end support at each stage):

1. Initial Consultation and Company Formation

NUR Legal begins the process by advising on the most effective corporate structure for obtaining Nevis gambling license.

We incorporate your Nevis IBC within about 1 week. This involves registering under the Nevis Business Corporation Ordinance and appointing local agents. The IBC becomes the official license-holder.

2. Document Preparation

While you provide personal IDs and basic financial info, our team (lawyers/accountants) prepares and certifies all required documents. This includes drafting your business plan, AML/KYC policies, organizational chart, and filling out the official forms. We ensure the application package is complete and compliant.

3. Application Submission

Once ready, we submit the application and full documentation to the Nevis Online Gaming Authority (NOGA). The Authority conducts a preliminary review – checking that forms are properly filled and nothing is missing.

4. Due Diligence and Regulatory Checks

NOGA performs due diligence on the project. This covers background checks on owners and directors, verification of funds and compliance programs, and technical audits of the gaming platform. We coordinate responses and provide any additional information promptly (e.g. clarifications or extra documents).

5. Approval & Issuance

Upon successful review, NOGA issues the gaming license (generally within 2–3 months of submission). We assist with any final formalities (e.g. official seals, notarizations). Once issued, you may launch gaming operations legally. (Licenses are valid for one year – we can also handle the renewal process to keep you in good standing)

Throughout each step, NUR Legal acts as your full-service partner: setting up corporate, liaising with the regulator, and advising on all compliance matters to streamline the process and avoid delays.

LEGAL FRAMEWORK

The Nevis Gaming License is governed by the Nevis Online Gaming Ordinance No. 2 of 2025 (“Nevis Internet Gaming Bill 2025”) and its accompanying Regulations (SRO No. 5 of 2025). These laws, effective July 1, 2025, establish the Nevis Online Gaming Authority (NOGA) to oversee licensing, monitoring, and enforcement. The framework includes:

  • Strict Regulatory Oversight: All licensees must adhere to a Code of Conduct, robust AML/CTF rules, and responsible gaming requirements.

  • Transparent Fees: The official fee schedule is codified by SRO No.5/2025 (e.g. €28,000 annual license fee, including two domains; renewal the same amount).

  • International Standards: The regime is fully aligned with FATF principles and global norms. (As one industry leader notes, Nevis has built a “strong regulatory backbone on FATF compliance and international standards”.)

  • Annual Renewal: Licenses must be renewed each year on the anniversary of issuance, with proof of ongoing compliance.

In summary, Nevis’s gaming laws form a modern, well-defined system. By leveraging legal instruments like the Nevis Business Corporation Ordinance and the Gaming Ordinance, operators obtain legally-secure licenses. NUR Legal will guide you through every legal requirement, from statutory documents to signing the final license.
